How to Build Income from organizing Workshops

Just in case you are tired of those articles and advertisements that promise to make you thousands of dollars and deliver nothing but empty promises, then you might find this interesting.  How many times have you attended a business seminar only to find out that all the organizers were after was to sell their books or Cd?

Well you can now solve both problems and make some quick cash.  Here's how:

Before The Event

Run a low-cost classified ad in your local newspaper or radio that says something like this: "Do you want to really learn how to start your own home-based business or any other idea you may have?  Attend one of our informal workshops/seminars designed for people without a lot of money to invest.  Only $30 (N3,000) for four hours that will change your life.  Call (+234..........)."

It won't cost you anything but time to sign up people to attend your workshop.  Set a date approximately 2 - 3 months in advance and request the $30 (N3,000) fee be a prepaid reservation.  Send the customer a receipt for confirmation.

After you have 100 or more people signed up for the workshop (which should take less than four weeks to do), call and schedule a speaker for your event.

Then, contact local schools, churches or other agencies that rent auditoriums, halls or basements to hold your workshop.  Prices will vary, but the average cost here in Main Auditorium UNIBEN is $100 (N10,000) per day  -- and they will even provide you with the chairs!

Then figure out how much your invited speaker is going to charge for the number of hours of speech and training plus round-trip airfare or whatever transport your speaker will be using.

Now, let's look at how much money you will make:
If you have 100 attendees and charge $30 (N3,000) per person, you bring in a total of $3,000 (N300,000).  Out of that you will pay your speaker about $500 (N50,000),  for the hall you rented and other materials and costs maybe $300 (N30,000), then if all things go worse, you will still end up with about $2,200 (N220,000).
How can you lose? Just do your calculations right.

How to Make More Money After the Event

And to bring in more cash for a long time after the workshop is over -- just videotape the event.  Sell the videotapes for any reasonable amount to those who attended the workshop. They would love a copy because they would love to share it with friends and family

So give it some thought.  With a little planning and a small amount of work -- you can bring in a lot of extra cash to pursue the other business interests you have.  You don't have to spend any money (except the cost of the low-cost ad initially)
